HammerHead CCR was introduced to public in 2007 during DEMA fair in Orlando. Juergensen Marine produces rebreathers electronics for a long time and today HammerHead electronics equips Dive Rite O2ptima ccr and can be install on Inspiration, Megalodon, Kiss and other rebreathers. Till today Juergensen Marine products are not CE certified. Juergensen Defense Corporation supplies MARK V elettronics for new US Navy rebreather Mark 16 MOD 2 and 3 and NATO rebreather eCCR Viper E. HammerHead CCR represents the accomplishment of a developing started years ago. It's borned as an electronic closed circuit rebreather with a clockwise loop circulation once put on. The standard counterlungs are 'on the shoulder' type with a standard 3 liters capacity. Anyway the company offers also as optional backmounted counterlungs. The counterlungs have an inside bladder and an external protective cordura cover . The inflator valves are handy as the mushroom ADV valve directly positioned in the inhale counterlung. It starts to work gradually; the flow stop valve is easy to manage. HammerHead is standard equiped with the Golem Gear BOV, a safety apparatus to bypass to open circuit use. The loop hoses are large with 4,5-5,5cm diameter. Doing the negative pressure test the hoses shrink like an accordion and don't collapse. Also T-pieces are marked with abbreviation 'INH' for inhalation and 'EXH' for exhalation. The canister head is a small work of art. Close the exhale gas connection we find the radial oxigen injection hole and the solenoid valve that in this CCR is before the CO2 filter. The result is a perfect gas mixing before the cell analysis with avery flat PO2 curve. You can get proof of this matching an HammerHead electornics on an inspiratin CCR with oxigen injection close to sensors: in this case the HUD can blink red for a very short time. In the head we find the connection between oxigen sensors and the handset wires. Theh sensors are easily removable in few second. The CO2 filter is a radial type.

The exhale gas pass through the cylinder wall exiting from the filter middle and copntinuing towards sensors . Juergensen Marine certifies a filter duration of 6 hours with light work and a temperature of 0°C. Going on through the loop we arrive to the sensors faced against the gas direction. This i s a Juergensen Marine electronics characteristics like the lodging for the 4th optional sensor. As we can understand the sensors faces are the only parts touched by filtered gas that continues his path towards the inspiration counterlungs. Before to describe the ccr heart, the electronics, it should notice the head patented closing system. It remembers a bit the connection between cameras and their lens. But in this case we find a fixing ring with a couple sealing o-ring.Personally I've tried to dive also with one o-ring and it works fine. This is the demostration of tha attention that Juergensen Marine considered about the loop integrity. On the head is placed the connection to the hud, the patented DIVA (Display Integrated Vibrating Alarm) and on other port to connect a costant oxigen injection that changes the HammerHead in an hybrid CCR. The HammerHead electronics are original for design and philosofy adopted to build it.

RevC+RevC+ First of all the electronics are outside the loop and the only connection with the loop are the sensors. The electronics batteries are inside the handset, can be take out easily by the user. They are designed to manage different batteries voltage till 7v. The diver can use alkaline or lithium batteries, rechargeable or not. That means that if the loop is flooded the electronics will be safe. More, batteries gas loss will not enter in the loop. Electronics are completly indipendent each other with also some different functions. The primary is responsable of solenoid work that can be eventually escluded choosing manual option. Inside a decompression software with Buehlmann algorithm, 5 gradient factor with one customizeable. The secondary unit is a back up without control on the solenoid. It shows PO2 and a lot of other datas like temperature, filter stacktime and optional deco software also on the secondary: a back up computer. The setting mix are 10 on both units with 5 set point customizable by user. In the primary there is also the chance to set the work mode for the solenoid valve (standard, Juergensen, manual), Open Circuit mode and the FO2. Testa ClassicTesta Classic

Only in the secondary handset the user can set three type of display mode. On both electronics can be set the light duration and can be show the sensors mV, barometer, there are setable warning battery level, data records about maximum depth and hours of use, password manager and 'go to sleep' mode to allow battery change without data loss. The design of this rebreather is based on the 'Juergensen thread matrix'. It considers the worst mistakes that user could do and the relative warning that the electronics can give: visual (Diva led) and 'mechanical' (Diva vibration). The HH is made using top quality material, like anticorodal aluminium, delrin and stainless steel.
